Education Foundation Study to be completed--with your help! A couple of years ago the League of Women Voters of Scarsdale undertook a study to gather information about alternative sources of funding for public schools, concentrating primarily on school foundations. We worked together with a group from the TVCC to collect information, research and conduct interviews, but the study was not completed.
At this time we would like to update, supplement and formulate the data collected. We plan to be able to produce fact sheets for the LWVS membership in preparation for a general membership consensus meeting, where the consensus question would be whether, given the facts, we think a foundation (or any other specific source of school funding) is something we would recommend for Scarsdale Schools.
We eagerly welcome back past committee members, and are also seeking new members, especially those able and willing to conduct the research and navigate the internet.
If you are a current LWVS member, great! If you have friends who are not members but might be interested in participating, please pass this along. We hope to have our first meeting in February.
